Well it all started back in the 70s. I loved music and I loved to dance. I would go to Howard and Nan’s record shop in the Berlin farmers market and buy the best dance music on 45’s. I would take this collection from party to party.  You might say it was my first DJ experience.

From a professional view, I started in the business with a group called "The Sound Transition". After learning a ton from old friend Lou Defeo and his cousin Clem, I moved on to form Steve and Company DJ’s.

The concept Steve & Company was simple at first. "Steve", obviously, would be me and "Company" would be whomever was accompanying me to the party/event. Well, it was a great time. By combining youthful energy and great music, I was able to establish a great  reputation quickly. Now it was time for me to build something bigger and better. Thus the formation of my business, "Steve & Company".

Using the concept of standardization, my goal was to clone my look and approach into a multi-unit company. It was fun. Using the Winslow House teen dance as my base, I was able to hire and train the first Steve and Company crew.  The next thing I knew there were more and more events and more and more DJs at Steve & Company. The number of weddings, private parties,  concerts, corporate events kept growing and growing  over the next 2½ decades.

Now here we are in 2007 and still going strong.

Well, it’s been a great 25 years and during that time, I have trained many DJ’s, helped numerous charities, produced countless concerts and made thousands of Brides happy. But what I cherish most are the wonderful people I have met and the lasting friendships that I have built.

We have gone from 45’s to CD’s to Computer based players. It’s been an amazing run. I hope the next 25 years are just as much fun. Remember, we will always stay on top on our game and make it happen for you, our customers.
